A Project Runway Amendment
Oh
My Gucci! Remember Project Runway Season 6 when the cast left Parsons in the
Big Apple to go all the way to L.A. for filming in FIDM?! Well, with all due
respect, any fashionista out there can totally tell that it was a complete
fail. Point is, when it comes to change, Project Runway doesn’t exactly have a
spotless record.
So
earlier last month when it was announced that in the upcoming season, season
11, CFDA Award winning designer, Michael Kors was being replaced by Zac Posen,
also a CFDA Award winning designer, I was furious! Another decision that I
particularly disliked was that all challenges will be in teams? Will they be
set teams or ones that change every episode? As much as I like the juicy drama
a team challenge brings, the quality of the garments produced usually lack any
form of identity or consistency which is the result of the unity of cohesive,
yet conflicting, minds. It either completely makes it or completely breaks it!
Regardless, to quote Tim Gunn, will they ‘Make It Work’ this time? Well,
Hopefully… We do NOT want another season 6.
To
Conclude, I wish Zac Posen a very successful season as a judge and are looking
forward to seeing him on the 24th of January when the show
premieres. I would also like to inform all of you readers out there that I will
be writing a review every episode for the upcoming season on Ministry Of Eccentricity. Farewells,
Fashionistas!
