You are Beautiful
Hi there dearest reader,
Did anyone comment on your hair today because it really does look
amazing? And your clothes really do look great in you! Are you a mom wearing an
apron while cooking dinner for Adam and Sarah, your two beautiful little kids? Or
a baby sitter with a baggy labeled as ‘hideous’ that you bought from Walmart
last week? Well, it doesn’t matter because, You are Beautiful!
In the world of 2013, we are confronted by a world where the only way
you are labeled as beautiful is if you wear a size dress designed by Roberto Cavalli and I have got something to say about that.
The way we dress has got to do with who we are which is the whole point
of many schools having uniforms. It’s a gesture done to instill a feeling of
pride and loyalty within the student regarding that entity. Similarly, I
believe that all of you, beauties, out there black, white, a size two or a size
eighteen should cherish and love who you are and if someone hates on you or
treats you like a joke, remember, ‘Haters gonna hate’, that’s what they do.
I would also like to point out that, surprisingly, not being the size
two, stereotypical, teenage dream is actually an asset! Who are the pop culture
icons that everyone looks up to? Adele? Lady GaGa? Well, they were both misfits
and look where they are now.
To conclude, here’s a little exercise you should do, after you read this,
look yourself in the mirror and say, “I am a beautiful, strong, independent
person and I was born this way!”
